If the brake lamps do not illuminate properly other vehicles may not know when the vehicle is stopping. This could increase the risk of a crash. If the shift lever is moved from park without using the brake, the vehicle may roll causing personal injury.
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (Mitsubishi) is recalling certain model year 2013 Outlander Sport vehicles manufactured June 11, 2012, through September 11, 2012. If you do not have the time / place to sell on your own, CarMax is perfect, BUT a little strategy might get you a better price. During the time before & during your car being appraised, you will be chatted up by an associate. They will ask you if you've checked online sources to get an idea of what the car is worth. It wouldn't hurt to spin this to your advantage. If I had to do it again I'd give them a slightly high target price that I want. They say they don't negotiate, but giving them your target up front might very well get you a higher price. Once they show you the results of the appraisal & price, that's final. You have to take it or leave it. Best of luck.
